using Aspectj for opening and closing sessions

Does anyone have a understanding of what the below classes do?

HibernateProviderBase
HibernateHelper

in this URL: http://hibernate.org/115.html . I am trying to use aspectj for opening and closing sessions . any help or reference on this will be very useful.
