hi i have written a very simple query on the date field but it is not returning the disired values.

the following is the code--------

public List getParticularDateAttendance(Session session,
AttendanceLogonDto dto, EmployeeDto employee)
throws HibernateException {
String queryString =
"from AttendanceLogonDto dto where dto.employee.pkCode = :empPkCode " +
"and dto.logonDateType = :date";
Query query = session.createQuery(queryString);
query.setString("empPkCode", employee.getPkCode());
query.setDate("date", dto.getLogonDateType());

return query.list();
}

can anybody tell me how hibernate compares two date fields.does it consider hours and minutes in comparison
