I just wanted to say that the book is awesome. I buy and read a lot of books, and this is arguably the best book I have come across. It is very well written, very well organised, and doesn't have all the filler that so many computer books have. There has obviously been a lot of effort put into it. Thank you and well done. I'm up to chapter 5 on MEAP.

Thanks!

Yes, it was very very hard work. Looking back now, I realize that I wrote the first email about the book 18 (yes, eighteen) months ago, when Hibernate was just about 1 year old. A lot as happened since then...

Chapter 7 should be online tomorrow or on Wednesday.

Is there any approximation when the whole book will be available as a printed version?

Hi Gavin and Christian,

I have been reading the chapters from e-copy version. It's an excellent source of info not only for Hibernate, but also for the fundamentals of O/R Mapping and Database access strategies.

Who ever reads the book realises that its not a job done in a hurry, rather its done with lot of careful planning and effort. The chatpers as well the content are structured very well.

After Josh's Effective Java Programming and Rod Johnson's Expert One-on-One I got to read a master piece.

Thanks for the awesome job!
Jeelani
