I am new for commons-logging. I see hibernate using commons-logging.jar but some application using commons-logging-api.jar.

Could anyone tell me what their difference is ?( commons-logging.jar and commons-logging-api.jar )

It's a useless separation of API and implementation. Apparently someone thought that this is a great idea for commons-logging. You need both, or a single JAR that includes both.
