Joined-classes does not support .class property?

Hi all,
After read Hibernate docs I think that he was possible to use the .class property in polymorphic queries with joined-classes.
But after tests, I can see that it does not supported! Only mappings with subclasses (with discriminator-value) supports .class property in polymorphic queries!

I'm disappointed.
