While using the hibernate 2.1.1 with tomcat i am getting the above error

cannot instantiate net.sf.ehcache.hibernate.Provider: Hibernate exception

please help

you should add "ehcache.jar" to your lib.

I have the same problem, i put ehcache.jar in teh /server/default/lib and not work.
Please help me!!

Put ehcache in the same CP than Hibernate2.jar, otherwise, you'll face some classloading issues

try to put both the cache jar and the new Hibernate jar ie 2.1.4 jar in ur classpath
