The document doesn't mention them.
If they are not supported, is there a workaround?

D'oh! I meant to ask "Are UNIONS supported in HQL"? I cannot find anything about them in the Hibernate docs.

No, they are not ... they don't make really much sense on an object-oriented level if you think about it ...

Thanks for the reply.

I don't see why it doesn't make sense, however. I now am working on implementing one by hand. I want a sales record for every location for a certain day. If there is no sales record for a store on that day, I want to create a blank object with only the location filled in.
