while in hibernate mapping file, hibernate
map "string" to java.lang.String, date to java.util.Date etc,
is there a class/method to find this mapping info,
like foo("string")==java.lang.String?

I need this info because I'm doing a Code Generating tool.
Thanks.

Take a look at net.sf.hibernate.type.TypeFactory - note however that this is not a public API and is not guaranteed to remain stable in future versions.
