Hi all,

What type of mapping you're using? XML mapping files or XDoclet tags in the code? I'd really appreciate if you can comment of the pros and cons of these two different approaches.

Thanks a million,

I started with XDoclet, but have in the last months resorted to hbm.xmls again, because there are some perks and features not supported with xdoclet.

Thanks Michael,

I appreciate your help. That's exactly what I needed. I don't want to invest time on mapping with XDoclet to find out that it's somehow limited.

Cheers,

XDoclet is not THAT limited, it is quite okay for "standard" hibernate usage. Where it gets tricky is for example if you have extensive component and composite-id usage or you need the latest "bleeding edge" hibernate features. So you just have to weight it off if XDoclet saves you developement time and if it is worth the tradeoff/risk.
