ms 2000 jdbc driver not recommended?

Hibernate is a remarkable product! I'll never touch entity ejb's again if I can help it.

OK, I'm using Hibernate 2.1. In the sample Hibernate.properties that comes with the binaries, it states that the M$ SQL Server 2000 jdbc driver is not recommended. This concerns me because we've been using it in our production environment for quite a while and it has performed acceptably. Just wanted to know if there is anything I should be aware of before we go live with Hibernate. Thanks for your time.

JSQLConnect from JNetDirect is a viable alternative although it is not free.
