I would like to have a dynamically built HQL in which the name (column) field and other keywords (eg. DESC, ASC) is only known in runtime.

E.g.
FROM Cat ORDER BY :field :order

The problem that I'm having now is that Hibernate automatically escapes the named parameters ( ":field" and ":order" ) above. Is there any way to make hibnernate not escape them?

Thanks in advance.
