Hi.

I'm on Windows XP and I am trying to define CLASSPATH variable to include jar files that are in /lib directory in Hibernate.

The problem is CLASSPATH is long (there is a lot of jars) and length of environment variables in Windows XP is limited to 1023 chars.

So I can't define this classpath. I've spent hours looking for a solution in Internet (using Google). Increasing environment space doesn't seem to work, since this is the whole environment space and the limit is about the length of a single environment variable.

All of you have installed Hibernate and some of you must be using Windows 200/NT/XP. Please help me. I'm in a hurry and I don't know what to do.

Thank you,

Vicent Palasi

Use ANT and you won't have such problems.

...and when you package things up, use the MANIFEST for building a .jar file that depends on jars relatively to where it is located.
