Hi all,

I have a question regarding the use of index parameter:

If I use following mapping

<property name="XXX"
type="string"
length="30">
<column name="XXX"
index="ID_XXX"/>
</property>

Dedicated table contains :

XXX VARCHAR(255) NULL,

If I use following mapping

<property name="XXX"
type="string"
length="30">
</property>

Dedicated table contains :

XXX VARCHAR(30) NULL,

So, how a column composed of a varchar(30) can be indexed or is it Database related ?

Thanks in advance,
zoeeoz
