Does hibernate handle the IS NULL or IS NOT NULL phrases on the sql where clause?

extremely new to hibernate and it is probably showing

HQL where clause is parsed for translations of the property name(s) and HQL syntax otherwise query is passed as is the SQL engine.

The documentation explicitly mentions that this syntax is supported.

By the way, David, that is not quite right. HQL parser certainly does need to grok the where-clause, including all HQL operators.
