Why not have a subclass in a joined-subclass?

It would probably complexify the hibernate code.
Usually, You can achieve that with a subtile usage of subclass and one-to-one

Thank you for your answer. Using a one-to-one relation was what I was doing. But I would be glad if there would not be this restriction (
