Debug into org.hibernate.cache.EhCacheProvider.stop() and make sure CacheManager.shutdown() is being executed.

CacheProvider.stop() is only ever called during SessionFactory.close()...

Ok I tried it... I shutdown server and it was called.. But like I said I'm more concerned about excessive threads when server is running.

So just to make sure I understand...

You are worried about potentially excessive thread usage at runtime from within EHCache, so you post those concerns to the Hibernate forums. Is that about right?
