I know how to: db - middlegen -> hbm.xml - hbm2java -> java files

But which tool can be used to generate config xml from hbm.xml? I saw only doclet which generates config file along with hbm files based on java. Are there other options?

Well this could easily solved for example with a custom ant task (afaik there sometimes was one around already, just can't find it now). There is not that much stuff to generate about a cfg.xml

It's true. I just thought there is already task that does that.
