Hibernate and singleton

Hi,

It implements hibernate via a singleton and a service layer, is it a good approche ?

It is better to use a filter in order to have the possibility to use the hibernate session ?

I need to start my project with this technologies the week but i'd like to start with the best solutions. Thanks a lot for your answer !
