Is there anyway to use xdoclet tags to set the access method for a property? I can't find anything in the docs.

If not any recommended work arounds? Like a way to set the default method to access=field.

If not then I will post process the hbm.xml files with some xml processor to add them.

I have a legacy app that is being converted to Hibernate it does ALOT of stuff in the getters and setters that won't work in hibernate (for example lots of getTotal() methods that cycle through all the children). I am going to code the app to use access=field and add any hydration time code needed in the onLoad() method...
