hi,

what do think about a hbm-pattern-collection plattform where we could discuss mapping strategies and shape a set of best-practice patterns to common problems. like opensource sais: why invent the wheel twice.

i.e. UserManagement is a pretty common task in all kind of applications. so is AccessRight-Management. and many more.

how about?

The Architecture forum is done for that. And to keep it, there is the Design Pattern Umbrela page on the wiki community area.
I think it's enough. some comments ?

well, yes and no.

the design-patterns on the wiki are ultra-abstract and based on patterns :) - well, yes, this might be an advantage, but that is not really what I meant. I am looking for s.th. like a petshop-hibernate-app. Where common business-problems are mapped to their solution. The design-patterns on the wiki are much to far into development-patterns.
I am not sure If it really makes sense what I am saying :)

and the architecture-forum looks more like a plattform for discussing hibernate in conjunction with Tomcat, JBoss and co.

So, what I am really looking for is: someone definetly already has the code I have to write. the only thing i have to do is: look for that someone and ask him for the code :) (ok, that was the 3rd smiley, I've to finish this posting)

There are some such applications around. For Example [url]http://www.hibernate.org/159.html[url] for user management. There was also a hibernate pet shop somwhere somtimes.

Only because people don't post such stuff to the system integration forum like they should :)

The architecture forum isn't high traffic, it can handle business pattern discussions.

Ceating a Business pattern page in the community area: that's a good idea actually.
Done
http://www.hibernate.org/Documentation/BusinessCaseDesignPatterns

Feel free to improve
