Is anyone running Hibernate in either server 7 or 8? If so, what steps are required to make the integration? Did you have any problems or do you have any pointers to make the process smoother?

Never tried, but shouldn't be a problem.
I'll just have to implement net.sf.hibernate.transaction.SunOneTransactionManagerLookup
If you want to be in a JTA tx (not hard).

Thanks for the very fast reply.

I found this message in the forum:
http://forum.hibernate.org/viewtopic.php?t=78

It looks like this guy has looked into it and has a solution, but I don't think he ever entered it into JIRA. If you still think that this is the path to take, I'll go ahead and enter it in.

Other than the transaction integration, would the best procedure be to follow the JBoss instructions (with a little change here and there)?[/url]

Yep do.

Well, I've never played with the sar stuff. I integrate Hibernate and my app server using JTA, configuring Datasource, putting appropriate jars in my ear and that's all.
