Hi,
I can't really help you to solve your problem, but I can say you I had the same thing "without" weblogic (I use Tomcat and Apache dbcp).
It seems that Oracle dialect and long type columns are not compatible. I searched for 2 days why I had a closed connection problem in some cases, I didn't have them with mysql, and when I saw your mail I tried to use GenericDialect. And it worked!
So if I want to use Oracle Dialect I don't use Long columns.
