Hi,

When I used a persisted collection in a statement like this:

Collection orderedCollection = s.filter( collection, "order by this.amount" );

Is Hibernate parsing the "order by" and doing the ordering on the client side or is this string instead passed on to the DB server? I guess it is a little confusing since it seems like the collection (or at least some parts of it) are already loaded on the client. I am guessing that the server does the hard work here and very little of the collection gets loaded unless it is absolutely needed -- but I need a reality check. Please help.

thanks,
-jb
