Consider this:

<hibernate-mapping>
<class name="User" table="User">
<version column="ver" name="Version" type="timestamp" />
<subclass name="Customer" table="Customer">
<version column="ver" name="Version" type="timestamp" />
</subclass>
</class>
</hibernate-mapping>

Since Customer is a subclass of User... should I only have the version tag under User, or is the schema correct as is, with version tag under both the parent and the subclass?

Version tag must be only on user. (Joined-)Subclasses does not support version tag.
