Are there any examples of how to use hibernate in a two tiered swing application?

Two tiered architecture to me implies the client has direct access to the database. Thus the architecture is simple as you access the hibernate session directly within the swing client. Each client would be installed with the Hibernate jars, mappings (+ other required libs). The example use is no different than the many examples that already exist as there are no special cases.

I guess I am not asking the question correctly.

I was referring to the way you would wire the hibernated objects to the visual components.

This is obviously not a hibernate problem, but I wondered if anyone had had some experience / comments about this?

The standard response is always MCV but

The swing library is complicated but very good. In many cases you could "Wire" the hibernate domain objects into the swing model thus avoiding any necessity of using data objects. You will have to be careful in terms of re-associating the objects with the session. This should not be a problem when you are using short lived sessions (session for each unit-of-work or if you like transaction). The problems are much the same regardless of the front end technology.
