Hello,

This morning i was looking for a way to use hibernate in a shorter and easier way. I walked across the "spring framework" and a article explaining on how to use hibernate with spring:

http://www.hibernate.org/110.html

I also looked at the webapp-hibernate skeleton example, but this one doesn't offer source code (of course it's a skeleton).

After that i searched through the forum and found 1 pointer to a example which uses hibernate and spring:

http://forum.hibernate.org/viewtopic.ph ... ght=spring

But the download location seems to be down. Is there a example out there which uses hibernate and spring?

Hi!

I've got some example source you could use. It uses struts+hibernate+spring.

Not sure if it would do for best practices, but it does work fine.

If you're still interested send me your email and I'll send you the source

Thanks for the reply! I'm just looking for some code examples to start with spring in combination with hibernate, so almost everything is good. I'm looking forward to your email. My private email address is twan@twansoft.com .

Create a contrib example page on the Wiki so more people can benefit.

Hi Spring and Hibernate combo fans,

I'm pleased to announce that the upcoming Spring release 1.0 M2 includes a reworked version of the Petclinic sample app, now featuring alternative DAO implementations and application context configurations for JDBC and Hibernate. The power of the DAO pattern applied :-)

Therefore, Petclinic is now a working sample app that illustrates the use of Hibernate in a Spring web app. The new Petclinic also leverages Spring's declarative transaction management. Both the JDBC and the Hibernate implementation run on HSQL (included in the distribution) and MySQL.

Spring Framework 1.0 M2 will be released by the end of this week -- you're invited to check it out!
