Hi,

If I saw correctly in the dtd's it is not possible to combine subclass and joined-subclass in one class hierarchy, correct ?

If so, is this planned to be supported or is there a reason why you do not want to support this ?

Correct.

We will add a <join> element in Hibernate 2.2, which will allow properties to be spread arbitrarily accross tables. See the road map for more details.
