How can I purge my database using Hibernate?

If you don't care about performance, you can try session.delete("from java.lang.Object")... That should work, although I have not tried it.

A better approach would be to script the creation of the DB. Then you could simply use the DROP DATABASE sql command and recreate it. I believe the schema generation tool bundled with Hibernate offers such functionality.
