Is it possible to use caching with DetachedCriteria?

The DetachedCriteria allows you to create the query outside the scope of a given Hibernate Session, but, to execute the query, you still need an open Session.

So, during query execution, you will benefit from both first-level and second-level cache.

However, the legacy Criteria is deprecated, and it might get removed in a future version of Hibernate so you are better off using the JPA Criteria API instead.
