Our continuous integration build system uses HSQL to run our JUNIT tests after a build. This all ran fine using Hibernate 4.2.6. After upgrading to Hibernate 5.2.5
I am now seeing errors during the schema generation:
Quote:

My hibernate.cfg.xml contains the following properties:
Quote:
<!-- Our SQL dialect extends HSQLDialect -->
<property name="dialect">com.virtualcomputer.nxtop.mgmt.util.ExtendedHsqldbDialect</property>

<!-- Validate or drop and re-create the database schema on startup -->
<property name="hibernate.hbm2ddl.auto">create</property>

<!-- Hibernate 5.0 needs the schema name -->
<property name="hibernate.default_schema"></property>

<!-- Enable Hibernate's automatic session context management -->
<property name="current_session_context_class">thread</property>

<!-- Disable the second-level cache -->
<property name="cache.provider_class">org.hibernate.cache.NoCacheProvider</property>

<!-- Configure C3P0 -->
<property name="connection.provider_class">org.hibernate.c3p0.internal.C3P0ConnectionProvider</property>

The url is jdbc:hsqldb:mem:xxxJunit

I create the SessionFactory as follows:
Code:
        // Create the SessionFactory from the Configuration
        StandardServiceRegistryBuilder builder = new StandardServiceRegistryBuilder().configure("hibernate.cfg.xml");
        builder.applySettings(cfg.getProperties());
        StandardServiceRegistry registry = builder.build();
        sessionFactory = cfg.buildSessionFactory(registry);

I have updated to the latest hsqldb.jar (2.3.4) and that has not helped.
Am I missing a hibernate property, or an option when creating the SessionFactory?

There's a lot of things that changed between 4.x and 5.x. If you think this is a bug, then you should create a replicating test case and open a Jira issue.
