I get an abstractmethoderror with NewProxyConnection createClob when using a combination of

hibernate-c3p0:5.1.0.Final
which references c3p0:0.9.2.1

so why would it expect an implementation of createClob

So if I'm using JDK 1.6.0_37 what version of Hibernate should I be using?

Issue fixed. It will be available on 5.2.6 for sure, and maybe in 5.0 and 5.1 if Gail agrees to backport it.
