I see that the hibernate version 4.2.1 has the dialect SQLServer2012Dialect , same as the latest hibernate version , so want to know if there is anything additional added in the higher versions of hibernate for this dialect or is it the same, can you please confirm thanks.
[we have an issue upgrading to latest Hibernate as we have to update spring and related dependencies too, which is planned for the future but now need to work with SQLServer 2014]

Hibernate 4.2.1 was released on Apr 25, 2013, so there is this commit that you might be missing:

bbaeaa6 1/3/2015 2:38 PM magdalena enable query hints for SQL Server 2012

so, as long as I dont rely on query hints should be fine right?
