Hi Everyone,
I apologize if this is something discussed before, I haven't found anything on this topic.
I have a console application with only this line:

Persistence.createEntityManagerFactory("x");

It uses a shared library containing persistance.xml and all the entities. My problem is that it uses a large ammount of memory: around 500MB on a 2GB ram server, and around 750 on a 8 GB ram worstation. The web applications running on that server use much less memory, using the same code, database and persistance.xml. What's the reason? Can I limit it? Even the -Xmx parameter doesn't work.

Any help would be seriously appreciate, help out a confused programmer.
