When I try to update my very old hibernate application to the v4.3.5, I get runtime java ClassNotFound error when it encounters the use of a HibernateException. This program doesn't use Maven, so I have to provide all the dependencies myself. I have all the "required" jars and the c3p0 jars in my eclipse project.

Can anyone tell my why it can't find HibernateException and what needs to be added to resolve the problem?

Thanks,
Thom

It's possible that you haven't included all of the jars that need to be included. Include your classpath and a more verbose error.
