 Post subject: Hibernate 4.x or 3.x ?

I've been using Hibernate core 3.x for a long time and am fairly familiar with it.

I've been looking for a summary on what new stuff is in the 4.x line but I haven't been able to find anything anywhere. What's the primary advantage to using 4?

we develop on 4.x, and soon 5.x. That means we're not backporting bugfixes or any other kind of improvement on the old versions as we expect people to use 4.x

The only reason I can see to suggest 3.x is if you need compatibility with some other framework/tool which wasn't updated yet, but at this point all actively maintained tools should have been upgraded already as 4 is out since a while.
