 Post subject: HQL count(distinct month(date)) throws exception.

Can anyone explain why HQL traps on a function inside count(), while it is a valid SQL syntax ?

Example
HQL:
SELECT COUNT(DISTINCT MONTH(date)) FROM cat; // will fail
SELECT COUNT(DISTINCT date) FROM cat; // will NOT fail

SQL
SELECT COUNT(DISTINCT MONTH(date)) FROM cat; // will NOT fail

Or I am doing something wrong ?!
