I have read the rules for calling stored procedures using Hibernate and have successfully called stored procedures by abiding by these rules, but after searching Jira and the forums I still don't have an understanding as to why these rules are required today (Hibernate 4 and Oracle 11g). Some posts mention some JDBC drivers were not completely JDBC compliant, but that was years ago. Is this still the case?
