we have planned to convert our lagacy Java application( Jsp/Servlets/bean) to Spring/Hibernate/Ajax+Jquery framework.
right now we are using SQL server 2008 as database and JDBC for DB connection,

now we need to change old application to new technologies

configuration + load as per below for new application

Concurrent access = 100 users ( it may be 3-4 times in future)
Database tables = 450 ( can be increased 100 more in coming month, introducing new version)
more than 10 million records = in 10 or 15 tables
in one of transaction Table max columns = 260 ( other tables are having average 15 columns)
Two application running parallely on Jboss on two different context ( one is on root and other with subroot)

now my question
1) is hibernate capable to handle above scenario?
2) if above answer is "yes" then what should be precuationary measure to run our application smoothly?

my question is related to
1) perfomance of Hibernate vs JDBC
2) what should be the precauationary measure we need to take while its development
3) is new framework capable to handle large scale application where more than 100 concurrent users, with 450 DB table and having more than 10 millions records in 10-15 columns?
