Hi

I really like Hibernate (using (commercially) for over 4 years).
(For me) Scala is looking sexy too.

Is there a plan to port Hibernate to Scala? Similar porting like NHibernate.
From my point of view: it would be a killer app for Scala. Lack of Scala version of Hibernate is a blocker for me to think about Scala seriously.

Take care,
Adam

I'm assuming that Scala developers should be able to use Hibernate directly, since Scala can invoke libraries written in Java.

Do you mean we should have an interface which is more friendly to the Scala style of invocations? I'm not sure how that would look like, but since Hibernate is a community project you're welcome to create a proposal and discuss it on the developer's mailing list.

Yes, I read that Hibernate with Scala works quite well.

Yes, exactly. An interface - more Scala oriented and more Scala friendly.

I read some rumors about problems with dealing with collections:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1494 ... -and-scala

Hibernate is perfectly usable from Scala. Example-project here: https://github.com/andreak/on-example-rpm
