Hi all. I understand well the concept of inverse attribute, but i have one doubt. In the book Beggining with Hibernate, chapter 4, the authors give a full explanation about the purpose of owning a relationship. They give an example with a one to one relationship. That's clear. What puzzles me is that actually, in hibernate, the only moments you can specify inverse=true are when defining a collection (in many-to-many and one-to-many associations) or in a join table (including then all types of associations), but that leaves out one-to-one associations defined by a foreign key, which is exactly the example the authors were using in Beggining with Hibernate book. Does that mean that one-to-one associations through a foreign key can never cause redundant updates to the underlying database? Could someone tell me what i am understanding wrong?
