btw what does CR stand for? Code Red? Or is it what other projects call an RC?

Follow the link and you'll know that CR stands for Core Release. ;)

It's actually Candidate Release. Standard software terminology.

I believe that's Release Candidate (RC), not "Candidate Release"?

olivier.dupre is right, hadn't seen that the release notes were tagged with "Core Release". Still not sure what that's supposed to mean. I'm guessing something like the Release Candidate mbouillo suggested...
