I have an entity that has a ManyToOne relationship.

Code:
   @ManyToOne
   @JoinColumn(name="owner_id", unique = false, referencedColumnName = "id", nullable = false)
   private User ownerUser;

When I create the database using hbmddl with mySQL dialect it creates the owner_id column with a unique contrainst.
I don't seem to find out how to stop this and why it's doing it.
Can anyone help?
