I'm currently trying to write some code, that can take a hibernate class and be able to identify whether a certain property is a persisted hibernate field, or a transient non-hibernate field.

Beyond rolling my own solution, I was wondering if any one had either tried this before, or if there are classes in the hibernate API that could be utilised to provide this information.
