Hello,

Why is there a dependency between Hibernate and Maven? I thought Hibernate is an ORM tool, how does Maven fit in?

I'm already using Ant for a while for my desktop applications, I really don't feel I need Maven. It's just another thing to learn.

Does Hibernate work without Maven?

sure hibernate works without maven. It's just being used as a build system, but the compiled jars are totally independent from Maven.
