Hi,

I have the follwoing entities relationship:

Code:
public class NetText extends BusinessEntity<Long> implements Serializable {

    private static final long serialVersionUID = 1L;

    @Id
    @GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.SEQUENCE, generator = "MySeq")
    @SequenceGenerator(name = "MySeq", sequenceName = "SEQ_NTSTATE_ID")
    @Column(name = "nettext_state_id", updatable = false, nullable = false)
    private Long id;

    @OneToMany(fetch = FetchType.LAZY, mappedBy = "netText")
    @Cascade({ CascadeType.SAVE_UPDATE })
    private Set<NetTextStage> stages = new HashSet<NetTextStage>();

    public void addNetTextStage(NetTextStage netTextStage) {
        netTextStage.setNetText(this);
        stages.add(netTextStage);
    }

}

Code:
public class NetTextStage extends BusinessEntity<Long> implements Serializable {

    private static final long serialVersionUID = 1L;

    @Id
    @GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.SEQUENCE, generator = "MySeq")
    @SequenceGenerator(name = "MySeq", sequenceName = "SEQ_NTSSTAT_ID")
    @Column(name = "NETTEXT_STAGE_STATE_ID", updatable = false, nullable = false)
    private Long id;

    @ManyToOne(fetch = FetchType.LAZY)
    @Cascade({ CascadeType.SAVE_UPDATE })
    @JoinColumn(name = "nettext_state_id", referencedColumnName = "nettext_state_id")
    private NetText netText;

The problem is, when I try to save based on this code:

Code:
                netText = new NetText();
        netText.setPublished(true);
        netText.addNetTextStage(netTextStage1);
        myDAO.saveOrUpdate(netText)

I get the following exception:

If I relax the foreign key constraint in NETTEXT_STATE_ID from not null to null, cascading is executed without problems, so for some reason, Hibernate is trying to insert null in that column first, and then it inserts the right value.

Any ideas?

Thanks
G.
