 Post subject: Few questions regarding Hibernate Proxy Object?

Below r some of my dobuts regarding proxy object

1. Is the creation of proxy object by preference or it is an automatic process?
2. How to check whether the proxy object has been created by Hibernate or not? Is there any Hibernate API to check the presence of the proxy object?
3. On Lazy loading whether the proxy object gets created or not? Proxy object gets created only for POJO objects or for collections also?
