I have an application and every morning after leaving the application idle I see the following error when trying to browse..

I cant find any documentation about that.

Hi,

A Cache obtained from Cache Manager is guaranteed to have status Status.STATUS_ALIVE. This status is checked for any method which throws IllegalStateException and the same thrown if it is not alive. This would normally happen if a call is made after CacheManager.shutdown() is invoked.

So i think for some reason the CacheManager turns down.But as per the spec,by default there is no shutdown hook (ehcache-1.3-beta2 and higher). So check the version of ehcache.

You can check the status of Cache Manager whethere it is alive or not by calling net.sf.ehcache.CacheManager checkStatus() Method.

protected void checkStatus()Checks the state of the CacheManager for legal operation

Try to call the net.sf.ehcache.CacheManager.checkStatus method in a interceptor which ic called before any method is invoked.This will help us know in knowing the statuc of CacheManager.

Thanks for your quick reply to my answer.

Yesterday I tried to put the version of ehcache 1.5 but today I get the same error...
Cache is not alive.
Today I will have to put an interceptor(filter) before and after show any of my pages.
I will keep you informed in case you will face the same problem.
