Hi,

I am having trouble with writing a HQL statement for the following.


public void retrieve(String name)
{
Session session = HibernateUtil.getSessionFactory().openSession();
Transaction tx = null;
try{
tx = session.beginTransaction();
List stucon = session.createQuery("from StudyConfig where myname="+name).list();

in the above HQL query, value of name is supposed to come from the method arguments retrieve(String name).

but however, it keeps complaining

and i understand the error, it is expecting a number instead of string.

but how to let that know that it is a string rather than a number, i mean its syntax.

please help me out guys, how to write that HQL.
