 Post subject: Tomcat startup time is about 5 minutes

..resulting directly from a huge number of Hibernate mapping files. I am just a week into the project so don't know the exact issues yet but am wondering what would be some approaches to solving this problem. If I comment out the .hbm files, the startup time reduces by 80% or so. The database is in the network but not running in the same machine. Thanks.

Maybe configuring the log level info or debug could give you a clue about what is taking so long?
