Hi

I have a legacy database where lots of columns contain fine granular data like i.e. a telephone number split into 12 different columns.
I was wondering if there is any trick to map these columns into a single primitive Attribute containing the whole number.
In some cases these primitives are even mapped to different tables.

So my question: Is there a way to map primitive attributes to tables ?
I know this is weird and a absolute no go from a architectural view but I'm up for every trick that's proposed even if it involves some look at the sources of hibernate.

Unfortunately the database can currently not be migrated so I would need to have it working as is.
